My name is Johan Carlberg, I am a photographer and photojournalist based in Stockholm, Sweden.
My first six years of photography were spent in Sweden's nature, photographing animals, landscapes and details. Eventually I started to see photographs everywhere in everyday life, and that broadened my horizons as a photographer.
In 2022 I started studying photojournalism at Nordens Fotoskola. I wanted to learn how to photograph people and to tell a story with images.
I have two main goals: To combine journalistic storytelling with visual beauty, and having a photographic language that is as authentic as possible.
Besides photojournalism, I’m deeply invested in my personal photographic work. I love going out without a plan or assignment, finding images, exploring my style, and playing with photographic ideas. This influences my professional work, making all my images feel personal.
