To help humans understand how life functions on a microscopic level—cells, proteins, molecules, and more—and to draw conclusions from findings, sterile environments, latex gloves, large microscopes, and logically minded people are required. Researchers, professors, and doctoral students from all over the world gather at SciLifeLab, a scientific center in Stockholm dedicated to large-scale research in biosciences, medicine, and the environment. SciLifeLab is a closed, self-contained world where only high-performing individuals, specialized in highly specific niches, reside. Very few people outside the laboratory know or, least of all, understand what is happening inside.
What is happening is the rapid advancement of humanity and society in the name of science—an advancement free from moral judgments. Advancement for the sake of advancement. Today, most people in the world believe in science, but do they really have any clear understanding of what they choose to believe in?
